We are BSA Troop 280. We meet every Thursday evening from 7:30pm until 9:00pm at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, 66101 Morriss Rd, in Flower Mound, Texas near Lewisville, Texas. At present (8/31/08) we are a troop of 79 boys in 10 patrols originally formed in November of 1994. We started with 9 boys then and quickly grew to more than 30 boys in a few months and grew further to our current membership. Our scouts know and follow the scout law...

Over the past 15 years we have been to summer camp at Sid Richardson (1995,1999,2001,2003,2007),Colorado (1996,2000,2004) to Worth Ranch (1997), Camp Pioneer in Arkansas (1998, 2002, 2008). In 2009 we return to Camp Sid Richardson. We have camped in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico, overnighted at Stoneworks in Carrollton, and at Exposure Climbing Gym in Addison. The annual mystery camp has found us at Fort Sill, the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, deep sea fishing in Galveston, inspecting vintage planes with the Confederate Air Force in Abilene, spotting bats under the Austin Bridge, Striper Fishing on Lake Texoma. We also sent treks to Philmont every other year.
We have a high adventure program for boys 13 years of age and first class, who have earned the first aid merit badge. The high adventure group has gone backpacking in the Ouachita Mtns., deep sea fishing in Galveston Bay, hiking Pikes Peak and done the COPE course at SR2.
